In 1989, Sergei Radchenko a former star, of the “Bolshoi Ballet”, founded The “Russian National Ballet Company” composed initially included "Russian National Ballet Theatre". At this time, Russia was the USSR and every entity was government owned and operated. Under the leadership of Sergei Radchenko, Honored Artist of Russia, the first independent company of classical ballet was born and quickly gained popularity at home and abroad.
With the success of the “Russian National Ballet Theatre”, Sergei Radchenko and his wife Elena Radchenko, herself an esteemed artist of Russian classical ballet, having been a premiere ballerina with the “Mariinsky-Kirov Theatre” and “Bolshoi Theatre”, moved on to create an additional company, “The Moscow Festival Ballet”. With their solid knowledge of classical ballet and character dance, combined vast performance experience, a strong will and infinite dedication, their companies soon gained notoriety, respect and a following of audiences around the world. Ours is a 25 year old success story!
Each company tours as a smaller group, because one of our goals is to reach audiences in smaller places, not just large cities. We wish to give people the opportunity to experience classical Russian ballet, one of Russia’s great cultural heritages as passed down to us through the ages
